Carrier appetite summary

Monoline is a monoline personal umbrella writer focused on stand-alone personal umbrella coverage for independent agents. Current published appetite centers on clean personal lines risks with $1M-$5M umbrella limits and an optional $1M UM/UIM. Preferred/target business includes accounts with qualifying primary residence liability, acceptable personal auto, and additional personal exposures such as short-term and long-term rentals, motorcycles, boats, jet skis, RVs, golf carts, and trusts/estates/LLCs as additional insureds. Monoline also highlights select target-risk individuals such as public officials, entertainers, executives, and similar high-profile personal risks. Underlying carrier eligibility requires the primary carrier to be on Monoline’s approved carrier list; Monoline states it sits over underlying carriers with AM Best B+ or better, and the public product page also references Demotech A admitted home carriers. Minimum underlying limits published: homeowners/renters/condo CPL $300,000; auto $300,000 CSL or $250,000/$500,000/$100,000 split limits; Texas auto minimum $325,000 CSL; UM/UIM minimum $250,000/$500,000/$100,000 or $300,000 CSL; watercraft/golf carts/ATVs/jet skis/recreational vehicles require $300,000 liability or $250,000/$500,000/$100,000 split limits on each exposure. A primary residence is required to bind; Monoline will not bind an umbrella over only auto, watercraft, or recreational vehicle exposures without the residence liability anchor. Published ineligible/restricted items include applicants with 4 or more liability losses in the past 3 years or $25,000 or more in total liability payouts in that period, and watercraft over 50 feet, over 60 MPH, or carrying passengers/cargo for a fee. Geography: admitted/approved in 47 states, with non-admitted availability in Florida, Maine, and Minnesota; not available in Alaska, New Jersey, or New York. Broker/producer notes: Monoline emphasizes fast quoting/binding through its platform, agency signup to begin quoting, live chat and phone support Monday-Friday 8am-6pm CT, email response within 1 business day, and availability of underwriting/support resources through its Help Center. The site also promotes a book-roll program (SimpleSwitch) for moving existing umbrella books.
