Carrier appetite summary
Access Insurance Company is no longer an active insurer and has been in court-ordered liquidation since March 13, 2018. A Texas district court declared the company insolvent and ordered liquidation; all remaining policies were cancelled by approximately April 12, 2018, and guaranty associations assumed eligible covered claims in accordance with state law. There is no current underwriting, appetite, or submission guidance because the carrier is not writing new or renewal business and has had its authority revoked or terminated in multiple states following liquidation. Historically, Access wrote nonstandard personal auto insurance in roughly 22 states, distributed through independent agents and focused on high‑risk drivers, but those programs are defunct and should not be treated as available placement options. For operational purposes today: do not market, quote, bind, endorse, or renew any business under Access Insurance Company paper; route any in-force or legacy claim issues to the appropriate state guaranty association or special deputy receiver as indicated in state liquidation notices; and advise producers to re‑write affected insureds with an active market. Any references you may see to "Access" underwriting or appetite are historical only and must not be used for current placement decisions.
